alright well i traded my modded out honda trx450r for a bone stock 06 suzuki ltr450... Im not sure if i made out on it or not but i guess we'll find out next race season. I got all winter to mod it out cuz i want this thing to be fast...
i got $500 bucks also for trading, so im thinking with the money im goin to get a yoshi full exhaust n the cherry bomb or jus buy some nerfs for now. I dont care bout looks, im goin to power first, i have a guy goin to set up the stock suspension for me for now and hopefully i can get some floats by march 2010 or somewhere around that.
Does anyone else have any ideas what i should buy for my stock LTR and what would be best in order???

alright so a full exhaust would be best to buy? and is the RS5 better than the other's out there?
im deffinitly looking to get into the motor, probli a 14:1 piston along with some aftermarker cams..
I think im kind of regretting trading my full out modded honda for the suzuki, someone please tell me that it was for the good or something, lol

Is the ltr in good shape? I know I got rid of my fully modded yfz for an ltr and it was the best decision I could have made. As far as value goes I don't think it gets any better than a ltr. I have been riding my stock motor 06 pretty hard for a year now and its been holding up great. All I have is a cherry bomb, stock exhaust with baffle pulled and I can holeshot guys in our pro class all day. It is about the rider but I can say the ltr is deceivingly fast. It seems to be slow but instead of spinning tires you are hooking up and driving forward. Not to mention I love the way it handles, but coming from a yfz thats not hard to beat:D

you will not be disapointed with the ltr, and deffinetly check out a dasa they are by far the best pipes out.

yeah everybody seems to like to dasa exhaust on every quad, it deffinitly looks sick too.... i jus found out that the previous owner told me that it has all the 2008 ltr tranny, 15:1 piston and the head is ported......so i guess im pretty happy now. I thought i was goin to have to dump a load of money into it

yea just take your time with ide height and setup and tuning your shocks. in my district i won c class and b class with stock suspension. wasnt the easiest but i made it happen cuz i didnt have the money.

IMO the stock axle rocks. I have yet to replace mine and it seems to be holding up better than any aftermarket one I have used (knock on wood) and the stock arms are fine. Look at kory ellis he raced a whole season of quadcross on stock arms and also a few nationals the last season he raced.

atveric- how much of a pain was it to set the ride height and everything? did you have the stockers revalved? or the same right from the factory?

like they where from the factory. my mechanic has his own track so it was a little easier to get them set up cuz i had all day. i just took my time all day and kepp messing with them till they where right

You can spend your money more wisely on a steering stabiliser than on a exhaust! I had a Yoshi RS5 on my K8 with a Athena big bore kit and replaced it with a Dasa. I think the standard gutted pipe is better than the RS5.

thanx for lettin me kno that before i spent all my money on one...if i were to go with an exhaust Dasa would be my first choice n if not that then a Sparks exhaust...
i had one of those cheaper CCP stabilizers on my honda and i loved it, goin back to a quad without one SUCKS!! never knew how much they did for you until its gone

Everybody says the same when they ride a quad/bike without one, after they have been use to one.

would it be worth buying like a power commander or something similar to that? what do you gain by buying one of these

with just a pipe you will be fine but if you do any other engine mods u need to get a pcIII

Yes,dont waste any money on a PC3 unless you start doing other things to the motor. With a pipe, you just add the Cherry Bom and remove the airbox lid, that is it. Maybe a 13 tooth front sprocket?!
