If you guys saw the deer my old man has killed in the last 15 years, you'd **** yourselves. Oh, and we also have a previous non typical world record in our family as well.

These little bucks you guys think are big, think again.

Pics? Sure. All were taken during basement reno's. How many can you guess correctly make book? I bet most of you can't.

All shot by my dad:

And this one was shot back in the 1970's by my Grandfather. It wasn't number 1, but it was number 3 back then. You'll find it in the Big Buck Magazine if you search hard enough for it in past issues.

None there. I've only taken down a 5X5 in velvet (post pics after work) that scores about 150 and a 4X4 that scored 140 (24 inches wide though).

I wounded one giant in my day. It was a 170 class buck. Dropped it in its tracks, when I went back with the truck, he got away. I mustve knicked his spine. Little blood, and there was no snow to track with. It haunts me everyday.

And with me being in University that past 4 years, its been hard to get out during the odd weekend during November.

And when my dad was a guide/outfitter years ago (he doesn't do it anymore), the size of bucks his hunters got were insane. I wish I could get pics up of them (a lot with drop tines, double drop tines, 180+, etc.) but the pics would need to be scanned at home which is 3 hours away.

Comparing Alberta bucks to most anything in the lower 48 is apples and oranges. Deer in many states are lucky to see 3 1/2 years old. Alberta has long been a mecca for huge bucks.....you are very fortunate to live there and have the chance to hunt them.

I won't deny that. But I'm also very unfortunate to suffer threw the ****ty winters we have. -50 kicks your *** after a while...but I wouldn't trade it for anything. Hunting is one of my biggest passions.

Here are some bucks that were killed within a few miles of my place. The top buck was killed by Brian Hayslip, a good family buddy of ours. Its the second biggest buck in adams county and holds some kind of records. not sure what because im not a hunter lol. The second and third pic was the biggest buck killed in Adams county....The Amish Buck. Locals around here say amish buck was raised and killed but theres no hard proof so until its proven then it was just an everyday hunter that got lucky..

Ohio will soon pass Iowa for big bucks. Shotgun only has helped a ton there I believe. The body weights arent far off Alberta bucks either!

Everyone gets riled up over Texas deer, but to me, a heavy rack and good body do more then a wide thin rack.

All my moms side lives in WI and there always like "Oh hunting with a crossbow is not fun at all blah blah" But they will sit in their tower blinds with a heater and Say "WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THAT DEER!!!" "LOOKS NICE SHOOT IT" (250 yards away) and they call that hunting.
And yes, not having rifle season helps alot.
