i know the part numbers are different but they look the same, is there any way that it would work

Not sure, ive just seen them side by side in real life and there not the same, sorry i couldn't help out more.

their different because of the way the rear plastic mounts. I would guess that if you matched it with whatever year plastic its for then it would work on any quad.

they are a lil different in the rear toward the carb. different carb so they gave it a different shape to cleat it.

I believe the curve for the gas tank is different as well.
