I was just wondering if you could quote me a price on welding a box like this. I got one locally but it seemed crazy high, thanks in advance.

I think there are two welds about 24 inches a piece and two welds on the pipe the filter mounts up to, thanks again

If I can get ahold of a bender and make some plans I might start making stuff like that. I have a tig welder so welding it isn't a problem. I agree, $200+ for an airbox is rediculous. So is $75 for radiator shrouds.

i could make the box for about $100 and if u just wanted to know about welding well that would only be about $30.00

Well I have the aluminum and blue prints all the guy has to do it cut it out, bend it, and weld it. He quoted me 166 a box, and have enough aluminum for 12 boxes, so the total bill woulda been 1992!!! thats nuts, so Im trying to find out whats far.
if you have the aluminum and the blue prints are good i'll do it for 50 a box. i'm working on a oversized oil tank right now. i'll post pix when i get it done, its a little different than most.

im thinking about making one for my 250x. i would just find the bolt holes and size and everything from the stock airbox. if i get good ill start selling those.i made some ram air fins for it already. when my friend scans them ill show you.
heres the idea for it.....it works great i run with airbox lid ON and air gets forced to the filter...i never bog out in 5th anymore hardly. im running K&N

That sounds right.
