Anyone on here that has been there could i have some info? Are you allowed to ride at night there? And what about carrying a passenger because my G/F most likely is going to be there. Any info anyone has would be great..Thanks

I'm pretty sure it closes at dark.

Your not supposed to ride double, but I saw a coulple people doing it. But you better be on a 4x4 if your riding double.

There is also a guy on here that will rent you a quad. Not sure of his name, but if you search for Hatfield McCoy threads, I'm sure you'll find his username.

you definately cant ride at night....but when we were there in sept. there was some riding double.

Here are some of the more important rules to the H/M trails.
I hope they will help you:


Adult supervision is required for those under age 16.

No camping on the trails or at the trailheads.

No alcoholic beverages may be consumed or carried.

Display user fee permit at all times.

No passengers on any ATV - No exceptions.

Everyone must wear a DOT, SNELL or other approved helmet and protective eyegear.

Trail system is open from sunrise to sunset.
