I don't know what year 400ex I have but it seems to be kinda slow on top end. Feels like it'll go about 55-60mph. The sprockets on there now are 14 and 38. I love the torque but it just seems a little slow on top end.

Maybe I'm just used to riding my R. It'll go 90+mph.

Mine is a 07 and came with a 14-39 but was slow on the top end.
So when it was stock I went to a 14- 37 witch was as tall as I could go and still have some low end power. I now run a 14 - 36 with a bunch of mods and I'm still looking for 6th gear.LOL!!!

Ops I forgot one very important detail, I went from stock 2O's to 18's. So I'm probably back close to stock with the smaller tries.
I think I’d give up reverse to have a 6th.

Man, I'd give so many things for a 6th gear.
