I am guessing you mean they are squishy?? Mine feel squishy compared to my buddies R. I would like to try steel braided brake line to see if they tighten them up some also....................

I have steel beadeds made by fast line. they were around 135 to 140$ and i can stop alot better. when i grab them they stop dead almost to much stop. they took about 25 mins to install and about 35 mins to blead them. i rec this to everyone its was one of the best things i have bought so far. if u can't get a rear pair right now just get front u will be really happy wit them.

The 'R has very slick dual piston calilpers... The 'EX has cheaper single piston calipers... :(

There are kits to adapt R calipers to the EX's spindle, but they are quite expensive, and then you still have to buy the calipers (unless you have some kicking around)...

On a side note, my 400's front brakes were terrible when I picked the bike up, I had to bleed them to get them up to snuff.. They still feel a bit 'vauge' but have great stopping power. I'm sure a set of braided brake lines would help quite a bit.

I tried my friends stock 400 and his brakes suck, i have SS braided lines. I love em, just touch em and they lock up.
