The deal is I always wanted to own a hybrid and now i have a yz450/400ex hybrid, but due to the pain in the a** of kickstarting it, reliability issues and everything is 400ex geometry (stock frame) i cant make up my mind. So i picked up a really nice 400ex and now do not know if i want to keep the hybrid and part out the 400ex or if i should keep the 400ex and part out the hybrid?? Both are in great shape with no issues and lots of money invested in both.

I only trail ride and do not race, so is the 416ex a better and more reliable way to go, or stick with the hybrid that i always wanted??? Here are pics of both..

Any advice would be appreciated!!! thanks

Since both are 400ex's basically and one has a higher compression/faster motor, I would choose the one you will ride more and has less maintenance issues. 400ex's are not that fast, but if you don't race, suspension will allow you to go faster (which you have).

A hybrid 400ex isn't the same as a 250R based hybrid so I say ditch the hybrid - although depending on how much you have into it, it may not return great money. The shocks are probably worth the most.

i agree, for what u do, stick with the 400ex...

keep em both!

I have to agree with 250Renvy. For your situation i would probably just keep the 400ex. I guess it all depends on how much you value the work you put into that hybrid. If built properly and well maintained... that hybrid can be reliable. Ive never owned a 400ex, but have heard they are bulletproof

so you only trail ride but bought a hybrid?? i understand you always wanted one, but trail riding a hybrid just doesnt work really. unless... alot of parts were changed. the ex will be alot easier on you now and in the long run.

but as far as selling one? the ex will be alot easier to sell right now than the hybrid becuase everybody wants production bikes for some reason.
