I'm working on a 400EX based hybrid and need to make some room around the rear brake pedal. Does anyone make a straight rear brake pedal? The stocker blocks where my kick starter needs to grow out to.

i've seen someone that just cut the metal, flipped it around so the dip was underneath rather than a hump up top, and welded it back. Probably the easiest option.

I was thinking I could span that bump with a piece of metal welded in, then cut off the rest, but I was hoping for something cleaner looking.

you could make one that is straight. it probably would not be too bad with a peice of 1" flat stock or if you have a mill you could mill something out that would be pretty cool. steve

i did the same hybrid build. what i did was flip it, and make it curve not only under the footpeg, but under the frame, toward the engine, and then back out in the proper position. first i would try flipping it, because i have a custom kicker which is probably the reason that mine had to go under the frame as well.

the reason i said this is because, even after its out of the way of the kicker, the kicker still has to complete its full motion without hitting the pedal. those kickers have a HUGE amount of travel in them, and thats why mine was such an issue

Was yours yellow? I think I've got a few pics of it and noticed that. I want to avoid going under the frame because I'll be setting it up for woods riding and need the ground clearance.

I saw another XR/400EX hybrid set up for motocross that used a straight pedal, and he had the kick lever rotated forward a bit. Could never think of why, but that is probably it.
