I agree...I've ridden a 'zilla with those same Realtor tires and it was a f'in trench digger! You think the 250R parts are getting harder to find...wait till its time to track some down for that 500.

I think we might have mis understood eachother. I'm assuming you currently have a Honda TRX250R and are considering either the LT250 or the LT500 Quadzilla. I would pick the Quadzilla; it is a wicked machine. One of my riding buddies has one, but hardly ever lights it up...I haven't ridden it in forever. However, it's been my understanding that parts for the Suzuki 250/500 have always been less readily available when compared to the Honda, and especially now. I'm not a Suzuki expert, but read as much as you can about them- it seems they changed a lot of things from year to year...some had bigger ports, some had soft castings, blah blah.

yes, i have that honda 250r, and was considering that excellent condition lt250r suzuki, and then the quadzilla showed up but it only starts with ether, he said jets are wrong, i dont know what to do, i am starting to feel that the 250r zuki is basically the smae as the honda 265 r so it would be a waste to get it even though its in amzing! condition

When you need to start with either that means the compression is low and needs a rebuild. So factor in the cost of a rebuild right away. If I was selling something I would take the 5 minutes to change a jet for a better sale than just tell someone the jets are wrong.

Personally I have heard more negative than positive on the Zilla's. I always here that they are fast but you never hear those handle great, or those are nimble light machines. It is basically good for a straight line/dune atmosphere. More like a heavier Banshee. The 500's had there day in the sun and would be cool watercooler talk but in IMO the lt250 would be a smarter investment. From the looks of the 250 it is in very nice shape and needs nothing. If you need to rebuild the 500 and if it needs tires you are now looking at another $300-400 more dollars on top of it.

It's your money but I will tell you this if that 250 was close to me it would be in my truck already making your decision easier.

Also if you want the speed of a 500 put the money into your Honda 250r and you can make it faster than a 500 but still be lighter and handle better. Then when you want a more melow ride you will have the Lt250r to ride. Just a thought?

oh come on...it's says 1400 obo...get him down to like 1100 or 1200...the lt250r is an outdated version while the 500 is actually the more powerful version with the 87 jug...take the few hundred u would save with the 500, get the stud upgrade, ears welded, a little port work and a new piston....ready to go...

check out quadracerhq.com and do alot of reading....that will tell u everything u need to know about the 500's.....

u already have a 250 also...get a 500 and have something different...u will have the honda to fall back on if u are riding somewhere u don't need all that power...

that lt250 isn't close to what your honda is. Ride is rough, swingarms break, the 500 rides like a caddy with gobs of torque. It is big but you already have the best 250 ever. why buy another thats not near as good? I've had both of those zuks, we're all honda now.

so what's your reccommendation, that lt250 looks like a 2010 showroom quad not to be biased

do you want to ride it or look at it. Bought a 85, my first real quad, thought it was the stuff, couldn't understand why the honda's would run off and leave me and when I caught up I was beat to snot, then I rode one. thought I'd get the big 500 and have everything, much better than the lt 250, very fun to ride, didn't handle like the honda, bought an 89 in 1994 and had one ever since. take that lt250 for a good ride.
