I just put a 05-450 carb on mine and it ran real good right off the bat. I have a 416 with 12:1 and stage two hot cam and a P&P and I just picked up a 120 and a 125 main jet and will try them this week. I think the stock 118 is a little lean for me and is most likely lean for yours.

As for the hot start I got a new hot start plug from Honda $25.00
and had no problems at all.
It has a little plunger inside that shuts it off. I have read on this site where people have tried to use silicone or other things to plug it off but they usually have to get the hot start plug and that fixes the problem.

You will like the mod, it makes a more responsive throttle.

No I don't have the receipt handy but any Honda dealer should be able to look it up.
And I just took the main jet out and it's a 188 RD so it wasn't stock which would explain why it runs so good.
I'm going to return the 120 &125 and get a 190 and a 192 and try that.

Here is another tip when you get ready to put it on after you take the tank off and the heat shield, take the stock clamp off and sit on the bike like your going to ride it and set the bottom edge of the carb on the intake tube and push and twist at the same time and it should slip on fairly easy. Put a regular hose clamp on it. Now the air box tube is going to be about a half an inch short. Go to home depot or lowes and in the pluming department find you a 2”x2” rubber hose adapter. It will have two hose clamps on it. Slip it over the air box tube and push it all the way as far as you can. Then cut the end that is sticking out over the tube about a half inch. What that dose is make the tube a little longer. Then just slip it on the carb and your dune.

I just took the yellow choke lever off.
Don't forget the vent tube on the top. Take the top plate off and grind the nipple off and tap and put in a screw in the hole. Then you'll see a side nipple you need to drill it out and put the vent tube there.

It's very easy to do just take your time and go step by step.
Here is a pic of mine

Muddinguy

I went to the track saturday and the ex didn't run as good this time out. And the reason was the in line fuel filter that I had on it.
I put the new fuel screen that gose with the carb and it runs fine now.

Just thought you would like to know.

Let us no how you'rs comes out.
