Just remember when changing from ss to ti or vice versa you will also need valve springs due to the different weight of valves

and remember the springs for the ss valves snaps the valves shut with more force. Pretty sure the ss will require more maintenance. Check with a real builder though...I just read a lot of info and have a pretty good memory.

been through it all before.. they snap closed faster because the ti can't take the abuse..

Means just what it says. They can't take the abuse. If the Ti valves snap back as fast and as hard as the SS valves, they'll break or wear prematurely..

From my discussion with an engine builder, Ti valves take lighter springs since the valve is lighter. Ti valves don't create as much force on the valve seats as SS valves do. The builder preferred Ti and said it would require less maintenance than a head with the SS valves.

I've course, I am not an expert in this. I have 3.5 yrs on my 2006 head and haven't had to shim a valve yet. I've been doing some research though because I plan to increase my hp in some form or fashion. HRC kit alone isn't cutting it any more. Even the old guys are showing up at the line with faster and faster quads.
