start in gear?!?!

i just changed my clutch perch and lever. i took the old hunk off of there and the start in gear "button". the wires going to the button i just striped them and tied them together. will this be ok? also what size are the stock bars? 7/8? and can i just use the same mounts or do i need risers?

the wires connected together will make it start in gear so make sure you pull the clutch in lol. also, the bars are 7/8" if you want to use the mounts get 7/8" bars again, if you want to get the 1 1/8" bars you will have to get a riser of some sort. they make adaptors to go from 7/8" to 1 1/8". that is what i have, plus you gain some height to compensate for a shorter bar with the riser so for me it was a win win on getting bigger bars and the height i needed. steve
