XC race preperation (machine)

what do you guys do?

iv seen duct tape on bumpers and on the upper and lower control arms (conneting them)

i have an iron cross bumper so duct tape may be hard?

I have a 250r that I have done some XC races with, and on the muddy ones I took and wrapped paper towels around the hand grips, that way when you get into the mud and water just pull off the paper towels and you got clean grips. since the 400ex is air cooled, I wouldnt worry about taping the front bumper. check over your wiring and tape up any wires you dont want getting muddy. I also tape up the space between the airbox and fender/frame if your not running a airbox lid.
