Is anyone using one of those aftermarket chain tensioners? I'm sure the chain and sprockets on my 1987 LT80 are original and holy crap are they loose! Are these little quads supposed to have that much chain slack or are my parts just that worn out?! Do you guys mostly replace the parts with oem style new? I like the idea of using the 428 chain in place of the stock 520. What about the "torque" and "speed" chain/sprocket kits on ebay? I see the torque kit gives you better low end acceleration and the speed kit gives you more top end speed. Any opinions on those kits? Thanks.

Zuki went to the 520 from the 428 chain cuz of the chain being loose. The 520 can be loose but it seems to work better (or so was their theory).
I like steel sprockets. I get the 12/26 from Suzuki.
A 13/26 with #40 chain fits perfectly.

So you're saying to stick with the 520 size chain? If the 13/26 sprockets with a 40 link 520 chain gives just the right amount of tension I like that idea. What sizes are the stock sprockets?

Please allow me to clarify. :)
13/26 sprockets in the 428 size. Use #40 chain on those. Should fit perfect.
Stock sprockets sizes are::
520= 10/22
428= 12/26
