What type of hone?

I have an LTR450 and it seems the cylinder is all aluminum with no sleeve. Is there a coating on the aluminum? Should I use a different type of hone to hone this cylinder? Thanks in advance...

i would assume that it's a nikasil cylinder. Nickel/silicon coating. should not be honed. if bored or honed, should be re-nikasiled. many outfits do this just do a search.
why do you feel it honed in the first place ?

You should use a brush hone. Wiseco sells them in about 5 sizes. I use them everyday....

It looks glazed, but my only experience is with car engines (cast iron) You can see crosshatch but you can also see "up and down" scratches on two sides. I truly appreciate your input.
