I'm storin a 450r for a friend. I was wonderin if I could stand the quad on the grab bar to save some room. Will it hydrolock the motor. I don't want to have to drain the oil to store it upright
It will be fine. Just turn the gas off, and let it sit upright before cranking to allow the oil to settle where it needs to be.

be careful, I"ve had oil run out of my left side case into the airbox through the crank breather tube.

That's how i discover my petcock wasn't working properly!:(
I wound up with some corrosion in my front brake calipers after storing my 125 shifter kart against a wall on its rear bumper bar. The caliper bore wound up pitted and let the brake fluid pass the pistons when it was put back horizontal the next year. I am not sure if the ATV's can have the same issues when it is stored vertically but it might be something to watch for. The next time I stored the kart on the wall, I drained the brake system. The kart has single piston calipers on floating and slotted disks so it should be similar to ATV's. Or not,.. I am new to ATV's so this can be disregarded if I am way off base.
