I dont race a lot of mx but i am sure you dont want your front narrower than your rear it will make it tippy like a 3 wheeler. i would narrow the back up to match the front or widen the front. my xc bike is .5 inches wider in the front than the back at 47 inchs. also when you measure the front have some one stand on the front bumper and then measure across

You dont want to be wider in the front. you need your front at least 1/4 to half inch wider in the front. im not sure what axle you have or what front end but i would say move your hubs in on the back. it will help you out alot

I am guessing you're running 4+1 wheels up front, get some 3+2's it's not the end of the world.

I'm right at 49" front and rear. And yeah def. make the rear match the front. And I'm going to guess and say you have a G-Force axle? Man, ONLY reason I have one is because my practice bike came with it. If I run my Douglas Beadlocks, with all the spacers to the outside, its like 52.5" Ridiculous!!! Something is def. different with the way they cast and measure their axles.

Trust me, I know a little bout the optimum width for MX.. I've been doing this for.. oh... just a little while...

But you do want to be a tad bit narrower in the rear, as stated in other posts.

y2jay, like I said if you're running 4+1's you can always try some 3+2's. Even though everyone will tell you 4+1's are god, and 3+2's are the devil and will give you insane bumpsteer, it's not true. That's why they make stabilizer, which you would run regardless of offset.

Id NEVER run any other width for mx.
