Good lookin' pup there Pappy,...
Christmas morning '07, Santa left a late arrival package on our front doorstep...

http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n148/tri5ron/christmas%202007/PicturesfromMomscamera113.jpg

The kids just went nuts! They named her Duchess...

http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n148/tri5ron/christmas%202007/PicturesfromMomscamera130.jpg

My wife made the mistake of letting her sleep on the bed. Now, If I want to snuggle up next to Mama, I've got to fight my way through 2 Freakin' Mutts!

http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n148/tri5ron/New%20Puppy%20Christmas%2007/IMG_8019.jpg

Now she's 70 lbs. and is more commonly referred to as "Dufess", LOL! But she is my buddy. here she is out fishin with me last summer... Yellow Labs are great dogs.

http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n148/tri5ron/Havasu%20vacation%202008/IMG_8736.jpg

Hell !, I don't even get any bed space in the camper EITHER !!!...

Cool dog. We're kicking around the idea of getting a dog. My wife and I both grew up with dogs but after not having one for about 5 years now we've grown accustomed to not having to find a dogsitter when we leave somewhere and walking through the backyard barefooted and not stepping in a landmine:D But, I've got a 5-1/2 year old and a 3-1/2 year old and they're starting with the "Daddy, when can we get a dog?" They think it's their turn because their older cousins got one about 2 months ago.

Her ears can pick up AM, FM, and XM radio (if she tunes them in just right, some times i can get the local police scanner :D )

Ken have you falling off the rocker? 3 Labs ?? You're insane my friend. LOL

If I had a bigger yard I'd get another... but right now I don't have the space.

That's one beautiful looking pup.... I'm guessing he's a full blown purebred .. he looks like it anyways. Train him early or else the habits are hard to break .. as Im sure you know . hahaha

Ron ... I'm in the same boat as you .... you give the dog an inch on the bed ... the next thing you know you're sleeping with one foot on the ground so that you don't fall off and you're trying to find a piece of a pillow. LOL

Nice dog, I love labs. I have 3 myself.

Browny (mine and dad's dog): outside dog, he's only 9 months old and he is about 80lb.
http://i600.photobucket.com/albums/tt89/j_cyrus3/HPIM0887.jpg

Scarlet (mom and dads dog): She's almost 10, or maybe 11, and she stays inside, sleeps on the couch.

http://i600.photobucket.com/albums/tt89/j_cyrus3/HPIM0888-1.jpg

This is Abby, she's my dog, sleeps with me and my old lady... right in the middle, takes up half of the bed.

One_bad, is that a Manchester Terrier mix? My dad's dog looks just like that except his coloring is of a doberman. The place he got it from says he's a Manchester Terrier/Miniature Doberman mix.

we are not sure. some crazy family down the street's dog bumped uglies with some random dog and they left all the puppies out side to defend for them selves. so we took it. all the others were of a creamish color with black mouths. she was the only one what wasnt colored like that.

This is Mallie. I got her as a used model; the vet says she's part St. Bernard, part sneaky neighbor's dog. Most laid back and well behaved dog ever; used to love to go perch fishing on Lake Erie till her doggie arthritis set in- she's 10 years old now. When I sold that ZX10, I needed a way to display my riding jacket- the guy who bought it brought his girlfriend. While he took it for a test ride, she told me that picture was the reason she let him buy it.

It took our oldest dog about 3 months to start playing with my pup.. She would bite her and growl and the pup would just hit the floor and roll on her back. They play together now, biting each others lips and tails, they're funny to watch.

EDIT: beautiful dog, he reminds me of one of my dogs(Tyson, he was huge) that died from heart worms. :(

She is about 70 lbs and the stoutest boxer I've ever had. She is the forth one I've had and the most lade back one yet.
She came fully trained and knows hand signals. Someone put a lot of work in this dog. I’ve had her about six years now.

I've had dogs all my life and I know enough to know that this one is one of those rare once in a life time dogs.

How old is the pup right now? I remember when we got Hunter , 12 weeks old stocky little bugger . I wish they stayed small .. they grow up too quick, although at almost 4 years old, he still has the puppy character and doesn't realize it sometimes.. like at 6am when he jumps on the bed , pins me down and licks my face while I'm sleeping.:huh

Well, he has done some growing! He went squirell hunting with me this morning and did very well. No tree rats were seen but he listened and such.

My wifes soon to be dead cat killed a wren just after we walked back in the house, and as I was trying to stomp the cat and free teh bird, Gauge made a one gulp meal of one Carolina Wren:rotfl:

This afternoon I took him to the cornpatch for some updated pictures, I hope you enjoy them!

I have a 8 year old Black Lab that I was getting really worried about. he has arthritis in his back knees (no hip issues) and had really gained weight and was in just an aweful state.

Vet said to buy this high dollar joint medication but when I looked at it, it was virtually 100% fish oil. So now me and Moose are both taking fish oil pills for our joints:p Its been a few weeks and we can tell a huge improvement with him! Old labs dont retire!!!!

If I dont get a chance, have a Merry Christmas Christian....and Cody wanted me to tell you he went from 176 to 142 pounds and lifts daily......big improvement but he said he will catch up to you someday LOL!!!

christ did the pup beat the sqrl up that bad or was it you? how have you been training him... My mom has a pomeranian yorkie and his name is jack, he got hit by a car 3 mths after we had him cause he though he owned the road and found out not to do that... and some how walked away with just a broken rear leg...

im the only one he will listen to... he likes to cry when we eat and all i have to say is Jack go lay down and he go and sits in his bed and lays there till i tell him to come out... when we let him out side... he plays with the cats and he has a hard time wanting to come in and all i have to yell out the door is "JACK COME HERE!" and he comes running! but i cant get the dang pup to sit and stay...

i would love to get a lab and train it for duck hunting!

I shot the tree rat in the head:p

Right now it is all basic stuff....typical commands (here, sit, no bite, dont chew the couch...put down the kitchen chair...stop chewing onthe other dogs:p )

It is just good timing (duck season) and I am able to have a few birds around for him to retrieve. The biggest obstacles he overcame himself, picking up a duck and bringing it to me. Alot of dogs will not just pick one up and even fewer actually bring them to you without a bunch of training and hard work...im lucky he has alot of natural drive to do this without much work or coaxing from me. I make it a game, and show him alot of attention when he does good and combine his mistakes with PATIENCE on my end.

The other day he retrieved 7 or 8 times but would short drop the duck a few feet from me. I sent Cody inside to grab afew treats and would not give him one until he held the bird until I took it from him. It took 2 trys and then he made 4 or 5 perfect retrieves to my hand so we quit on a good note.

Dang Pappy,
those WV squirrels must be pretty tough for you to have to use exploding projectiles on 'em ! LOL!

Gauge is looking pretty sweet and proud of himself.

Add 3 Geese to the freezer.

This was his first water hunt and he did AWESOME!!!! I couldnt have asked for a better hunt with him. We had about 30 geese work right down river to us and he remained beside me and never broke even when the geese and him were eye level and less then 10 yards apart!

Go Gauge!!!

Hahaha that's classic! Not sure if I posted her up here yet, but here is my "new" Husky. I got her about 2 months ago now after I had my St.Bernard mix put to sleep. She was a stray that I found at the local pound. She's about 2 years old, and so far has been a great dog. I take her to the local dog park at least 2 times a week, and she still has energy to spare!

Change th color to dark brown and you have Hunter all over again. Ours sleeps the EXACT same way. Must be a lab trait.

He's gotten big .... looks good. What's his weight now?

Well, we hit the water way before daylight for his first ever full on hunt. he did pretty well, still needs some better boat manners but did much better on our way home.

Hard to believe its been just over a year. He easily has 2 more years of training and I think he will make one hell of a duck dog! After next week, I will take him after Grouse.

We saw alot of ducks today but nothing close, and I had to be home early. Maybe we will get into them next week! A beaver popped up along side the boat and it and Gauge were nose to nose! I was worried they would fight but the beaver slipped back under water and gauge looked at me like "WTF was that!" LOL

Good looking dog, We have had our american eskimo puppy for a little over a year now and he's finally starting to learn what is good and bad! He was a little monster for the longest time, putting holes in the wall and floor, destroying chairs, messing with the cats, bathroom on the floor, but now he's learning pretty quick. He is a cool little dude and ill try to get some pics up.
