High Comp piston on Pump

I'm converting my TT race bike back to stock so i can go trail ridding and maybe some dunes and just have something to have fun on. i have a full blown sparks motor in it. planning on sticking a stock head back on and taking the 16:1 comp piston out and putting a lower comp piston in. my question is. What is stock compression. and is there a little bit higher comp. piston that i can still run pump gas on?

12.5.1 cp your can run pump gas. stock for a 05 i think is 10.1

found the stock. 12:1.

i see that JE makes a 12.8:1.... would this be worth it? would i feel the differance?

Probably not after dropping from 16:1! I have a 12.5:1 cp in mine and feel no difference. I highly doubt you will feel or notice any difference with a .3 increase in compression.

You can safely go up to 13-13.5:1 on quality pump gas depending on elevation. I would get as close to that range as possible.

Thats what I would run. U would have nothing to worry about if u ran straight pump.

i got cp piston 12:1 and run 93 pump..

The stock 06+ piston is a very good piston for being stock. I think it's pointless to spend more money on aftermarket when you aren't really gaining anything. Plus you will be getting that little bit of extra reliability with a stock 3-ring piston, instead of 2 rings that most aftermarket pistons have. You can run it on 93 as well.

They are some aftermarket pistons that are 3 ring, but anything above 12:1 is more than likely going to be 2 ring. The 04/05 stock piston is 3 ring.

i run a 13-5-1 JE and i just take 2 gallons of 110 and 3 gallons of 91 and i run just fine, plus your at a big enough compression bump that you feel it.
