View Full Version : simple 300 ex upgrade questions

i have a 93 300 ex that i want to do a fewsimple upgrades to such as 400 ex shocks front and rear and a 400 ex carb. if any one out there has ever done this before please let me know how the carb turned out as far as will it work, fuel consumption, and power difference

Hey man. I have a 97 ex and its amazing. As far as the front shock situation goes, your gonna have to get the relocating bracet for them. They do wonders for the front. As for the back, i would reccomend getting a 250r or 350x shock. Other small cheap upgrades would be 14t front sprocket, or 39t in the back. I have that set-up, and works well. Gives way more pop then speed, but still touches 65 easy. Also, another idea would be to put a 11oz fly wheel. i did that first and really added some power. After you get all of those moderate mods, you can buy like exhaust and parts like that.

you konw, i cant remember where.. someonline store. But they were only 20 bucks. soo ya. check ebay or even craigs, if not call your local dealer and see what they have to say about them man.

Some of the kits are made by diamond j customs. They make an adaptor for 400ex shocks on the 300.

I found the kit on ebay and it is made by Diamond J. Customs. The kit is 79.99 and I also found a pair of 400ex front shocks that look practically new for 99.99. So I can get the relocator and the shocks for less than what my local dealer wants for one factory 300ex shock ($200) not including the coil spring. They are way over priced on everything they have. But I am still wondering about the 400ex carb on the 300ex.

You can also find great deals on stock 400 shocks. I've seen em go for less than $50.00 delivered.
