2009 GNCC Racing Series - Round #13 - Ironman - Live ATV Race Coverage

Crawfordsville, IN - Newly crowned ATV Champion Chris Borich will try to end the season with an eight-win streak to finish the season with 10 wins, but now that the season is over, several riders will be vying for a win at the unique track. Others will try to prove they deserve another chance at a factory ride in 2010. FRE KTM's Adam McGill still has yet to win a race this season, despite sitting solidly in third place the majority of the season behind Yamaha's Taylor Kiser who hasn't won a race since round one in Florida. Nine-time GNCC Champion Bill Ballance, who sits in fourth, hasn't yet said whether he will return for the entire series next year. He might be swayed by an Ironman win.

Other contenders include Yamaha pilots Brandon Sommers, Donnie Ockerman and Johnny Gallagher, and popular privateer Bryan Cook on his Houser Racing Honda. The XC2 Pro-Am Championship is still up for grabs, as well, with FRE KTM's Josh Kirkland holding the points lead over Yamaha rider Brian Wolf. A variety of other class championships are on the line at the Ironman, including a battle for the Open 4x4 Championship between Scott Kilby and Bryan Buckhannon. ATVs race on Saturday and bikes race on Sunday. The track is located an hour Northwest of Indianapolis, south of Crawfordsville off Route 47. You'll find it, just stay on 47 South and look for signs. Once again, ATV racers were greeted to heavy rain upon arriving at the Ironman GNCC, which meant nearly everyone had to be towed to a parking spot.

Despite the bad weather, the race will go on, and things are looking better for race day on Saturday, so racers & workers spent the day splashing through the mud in preparation for race day

Chris Borich & Jeff Picken’s girlfriend spent their free time carving some pumpkins and they meant business with those knives, so I was careful not to get too close.

it takes alot of time to cover these races. they will do photo coverage most likely. but to do live coverage you must have atleast 2 people at the track and one at home working non-stop to make it happen. if you want live coverage of the UTV you need to go to gnccracing.com and use thier live coverage feature.
