i dont know, but there is an old paranormal activity that wasnt released in theatres, back in 2006...i think its a true story, i think the first one was the real thing, and then the one that just came out was a remake....

But I do not wanna go home to my girl **** that we live in a old farm house and she would be one to have a demon with her. But I agree best scary movie of all time. But my mom says im a ***** it wasnt scary at all so I dont know

I don't plan on seeing it but the producers themselves have said it's not real and was shot in the 'Blair Witch' format to make it appear as if it's a legitimate documentary. I hear the handheld camera work is enough to make people seasick.

That might have been the worst "scary" movie ever. You have to suffer through the first hour plus of crap, to finally get to the only 2 mildly scary parts that happen in the last 5 minutes.

1 out 10.....and that was generous.

....and no, it's not real. I suppose you all fell for the Blair Witch hype too. She lives with Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and Elvis under Michael Jackson's ranch.

We went and saw it tonight....

BIGGEST waste of money!. I saw nothing scary about it what so ever..
Suspense- yes, in a fewe spots but that was it . I was so bummed. my son was hping to get the **** scared out of him. lol

They def. made this movie alot more than I thought it was worth IMO.

I did see some upcoming cool movies late this year Id to see. The one with Leo DiCaprio looked pretty cool, also 2012.
Avatar looked like it might be cool as well.

maybe im just that disturbed or just out looking for unexplained trouble, but i laughed pretty much the whole way through the movie. the only thing that creeped me out was when we were walking out of the theatre there was some lady still sitting in her seat with a blank stare on her face still looking at the screen

just wait now there is going to be a rush of all kind of movies like this. It cost $10,000 to make and they made 68 million so far off it. Even if it bombed they still would have made money on it

I watched it online and im not going to lie it scared me lol and I thought it was pretty good for a scary movie something about low budget movies like this make it even more scary but Im glad I didn't pay 12 bucks to see it.

I would also love to know if it was a true story and whatnot. Most of the movie wasn't too scary until...the last 10 or 15 minutes. HOLY COW. hahahaa

It was not based on a true story or true events.

The Fourth Kind however is based on true events.

The Fourth Kind however is based on true events. Although they say that on the commercials, it's a very, very loose interpretation of a researcher's claims of discussions she had with people who said they've been contacted by aliens. This psychologist claims to have "shocking" evidence but nothing's ever been seen.

It's like me writing a book about events that my neighbor told me about based on a conversation my neighbor had with a person in a grocery store and then saying my book is "based on a true story." You can find a bunch of similar articles like this one:

They have to spice a movie up a little to sell tickets. That could be said about 99% of all "based on true stories" movies. But you are absolutely right.
