New to this site and checked through some of the posts on here and here is what I have going on so far... 05 400EX

Rings were bad, was smoking while on the throttle..
tore it down.. ordered 87mm 10.8:1 JE piston to bump up compression a bit. as soon as piston arrives jug will be bored from 85mm to fit the new 87mm piston then honed out..already have the over sized connetic gasket set... any thing I am missing guys? anything I should change while I have this thing torn down?

Put in new valve seals. Up to you if you want to put a new timing chain and tensioner in. With an 05 depending on the hours on the bike it should have a couple more years left in it. Get a valve lapping tool and relap the valves.

that is funny man what is the diff between the 02 crf450 cam chain and the stocker other than the stock cam chain is $105
and the 02 crf450 chain is only $41 lol.... is the 02 chain stronger or what?
