Has anyone had good luck with these kits?

I have read a couple of people that said that they didnt work for them, but I was wondering if anyone has had good luck with them at all?

I just bought 300 spindles and hubs for my nephews TRX90 and now I am afraid to go any further. I have not bought the kit. If this kit is junk then I dont want to waste my time with it. He will be racing local harescrambles. For me it is either this kit or nothing. Let him ride it like it is. I cannot get any aftermarket a arms and shocks. Just too much money.

Thanks again everyone.

IMO, they are not good for racing. Been there, done that, went with Kids on Quads dual a-arm kit with Elkas. I would sell the 300ex stuff you have and buy some used good front shocks and let him rip. Honda215 has a REAL nice set of HLS front shocks posted in the mini classifieds or shop around for some Works front shocks, I've seen them sell for as little as $100, they make a huge difference over the stock "pogo sticks". Just my opinion.

I guess I need to fing a used set of a arms and shocks. The only problem is that he will only ride it for 1 year then he turns 13 and he can ride the 300ex.

Does anyone have a set of dual a arms for the TRX90 for sale? I want to find a arms first then shocks because it seems like there are more shocks out there than a arms.

Why buy arms & shocks if hes 13? Find some decent shocks & put him on the 300ex when hes ready to move uo. Just my opinion

He has to race on the 90 for 1 year until he is 13. Then he will be racing the 300ex. He rides it now but he is not allowed to race it by AMA rules. Thanks for the in put.

Does any one of these diamond J custom kits that they would like to sell. I have all of the 300ex stuff to try it so it would only cost me the kit to see what it is like.

Is he going to race in OXC? If so I don't think he'll need a wider front end. It may be hard to get into the top 5 without some mods like a 125, but if he can ride it he'll get close and may get in there. Not sure if he already has diff. tires, but getting rid of the balloons would really make it more stable.

i didnt have one but a kid we raced against did and the brackets bent it was hard to keep the alignment rite just little things like that oh also the bike didnt handle worth a crap either

i havent ever raced a harescramble just mx races

mx tracks beat the crap out of those bikes.....plus the kit looks pretty heavy too me

what are the rules for the class

There are no real rules for the class restricting what you can an cannot do. There are kids using full aftermarket TRX90s with 125 manual clutch motors. I am just looking for a way to make him somewhat competitive for the first 1/2 of the 2010 season until he turns 13 in June. Then he will start racing a 300ex that I already have for the last part of the season.

That is why I dont want to spend very much on the 90, and I already have the 300ex parts from the 300ex so it would only cost the price of the kit and my labor to change it all. That is my thinking in all of this.

heres a cheaper way to build a front end. cut the old brackets out and add some new ones (Welding them on makes it not nationally legal unless you run the mod class) only thing that happened was we cracked the frame after a year of racing

i am looking for more and better pics but you can see the brackets

So U fabricated up new mounts for upper a-arms and shocks, then welded them to the frame?

My neighbor is a machinist, I wonder how much beer it would take to have him weld me up something like that.

I take it U used 300ex a-arms,spindles,etc?

Did U do anything with the rear swingarm and shock?

Looks Good

This does look great. Is that what you did was fabricate your own a arm mounts and upper shock mounts, then use the 300ex parts for the front end?

I am having a friend of mine fabricate a piece that will bolt onto a stock TRX90 swing arm that extends the swing arm 2 inches and accepts a 300ex bearing carrier so that I can use all 300ex rear end pieces as well. Also this way I am not destroying the stock swing arm. We are still trying to figure out what type of rear shock to use. I would like to use a stock TRX450R front shock for the rear shock, but I dont know if that will happen.

I will post some pictures of the rear end when I am done with it.

That is a nice build if I had about $4000.00 to dump into a TRX90. I just need something to get through about 6 months of harescrambles racing and from there on it is 300ex time.

I hear ya.
I figure I've got about $1500 to make a stock TRX into something that will be FUN and SAFE for my boy to race a handful of XC style races and to ride a couple poker runs with my wife and I. If I spend much more then that I feel it will be a waist of money when my boy probably will take over my wifes Raptor 250 in just over a year or so.

On that note anyone have experience with Race Tech shocks? Comparing them to elka's. Will be used on single plus2 a-arms.

i fabricated my own swingarm and used a kx 85 shock it has 400 axles and hubs which i suppose its the same as 300. 400 stuff seemed cheaper i will look for a pic of the swingarm
