What cable to use?

I am doing a 450 carb mod on my 07 400ex.

I have the carb on and was waiting on a 450 cable I ordered from Honda.

A friend came by today and had a 450 cable and it don't mach on the throttle side with my ex thumb throttle.

What cable do I need or do I need to get a 450 thumb throttle also?

The thumb throttles are the same on the 400 and 450, did he have a cable for a twist throttle? Can you give a little more info on how it didnt fit?

Yep it was for a twist now that you mention it.

I don't know if this helps, but on my EX I run a 39mm FCR carb. I use the throttle cable off of the 01' yfz 450. And that was pretty harsh words to use bro, we are here to help each other not bash people. Nobody is perfect, remember that !!

I have a stock 05 450 cable on order I'll just wait till I get it and see if it works.

The one my buddy had was for a twist and where it screws into the thumb throttle was to small.

The 400 cable won’t fit the carb.

If the thumb throttles on 400 and 450 are the same then it should work.

I hope it gets here by this weekend; the weather is going to be fantastic.

I can’t wait to see how it runs with the new carb.

Ok the cable came in this afternoon and it's on it fit and it works.
