86 atc v. trx rear shock...

is an 86 atc rear shock the same as a trx rear shock? i know it has a shorter rezzie line.

no, its very close. The top mount on the atc's is wider, you will need to grind it down to fit the trx, the valving is somewhat off, res. hose is shorter and if you get a 85 rear shock, you may have to drill the bottom hole bigger(86-89 atc & trx used a bigger diameter bottom shock bolt).

are you sure the top mount is wider? I bought one off ebay and i had no problems with it, except i had to switch out lines and drill the bottom hole.

I'm sure, look at my sign., I have atc250r's and trx250r's. I have 3 trx250r frames and 2 atc250r frames for spares. I know my 85-86 atc250r's and trx250r's.
