ive been tossing around the idea of selling the 400ex I just got about 2 months ago. I cant decide if I should sell it and make my money back ( and if possible a little extra) or just keep it and ride and enjoy it, or try and trade it for a 450??. im not in a "need money" situation or anything like that, just an extra bike that I dont necessairlly have to have, but got it in the first place cause it was dirt cheap. right now it needs nothing at all done to it and is overall a solid bike. its a 2000 model with just a uni foam filter and full big gun exhaust, nerf bars and a aluminum skid plate. and I just got though putting new oem rings with fresh hone, new gaskets and valve seals and new crf450 timing chain and tensioner.
right now I dont need to put any more money for mods and bolt-ons for it cause im about at the point to where I would risk losing money if I did try to sell it for the price that these bikes are going for around here. and ive already got one money pit, my 86 250r :p , so I dont need to make another one out of this 400ex lol. but now if I do decide to buy some bolt ons, it would deffinatly be a clarke 5 gal. gas tank and a gt thunder rear linkage, and that would be about it. all this bike would be used for is just trail riding and some occasional xc races. not trying to ramble on, so heres some pics of the 400,
