Winch mounting

is it possiable to mount a winch on the front of a 2000 400ex? i do alot of trail riding with buddies with 4x4s and they go threw stuff that i can't. and i don't have reverse either so thats a big pain... so all i wanna no is what do i have to make or order to make a winch fit.. thanks

yes you can. I think Dennis Kirk has a photo of a 400 with a winch in its catolog. Or atleast they used to. Here is a link of a moose mount kit. Im sure there are others and if it is made by moose im sure you can get it at just about any dealer or other suppliers.

no problem when the funds are there i will be installing one. none of my friends have 4x4's and i hate getting stuck. good luck

I have one on mine as well, it was very easy to mount up. I got mine from Warn.

ya the whole 4x4 thing kills me but i think its more fun having a faster wheeler goin threw trails then just have the ability to go threw deep mud... as soon as i get the money to get the winch i am deff gonna put 1 on mine...

Oh I read your original post and if u think about what i said, youll realize anything, literally anything is possible with a few pieces of metal and a welder. sorry tho ive been drinkin and felt like being a dick.

BA9801, is that an ordered mount or did you fabricate that? looks good!

The mount is from Warn. I did nothing to it at all. The only thing I did was modify my front bumper with that extra tube on the top to protect the fairlead.
