They don't make a stronger starter. I'm assuming he means that it needs a new one. What is it doing that makes him say that?

well, i dropped it off to him with the wiring harness and just said get it running. he called me and said he got it running and its super fast. so i left work to to check it out and he said "but it needs a new aftermarket starter because its not starting". but it didnt start push starting either. hes going to go over the wires today get it running again. he told me to sell it to him for the $700 I paid for it, I think he is just saying it needs work so I sell it to him

Your friend is full of chit. No one makes an aftermarket starter. Even if they did, it would not be needed. Is it turning over at all, or just turning over slowly?

He's not much of a friend if you're questioning his ethics. Do you have anyone else that you trust more to give a 2nd look at it?

If it doesnt seem like it has enough balls to turn the engine over, check all connections, the charge of the battery, and load test the battery if possible. Might just be time for a starter. But it sounds likes hes b/s'ign you
