Does anyone know where I can get a Jenssen Motorsport coil? I tried their website and no go. Are they better than stock? I think my coil went out and I need one. :eek2:

Thanks.

the only thing i have ever seen was on ebay, it was 90 bucks and it was made for the cr 250. Is the trx and cr the same?

They are a great company to work with. I bought one through them, it actually failed shortly after, and they had a new coil to me within three days, no questions asked.

No haven't got that far yet. Lost spark over the weekend, well actually I couldn't get it started and didn't look like I was getting any spark. I was trying to check this by myself, so trying to hold the screw driver in the cap and crank the kickstarter will holding the screw driver a 1/16 or so away from frame is not easy! So I could be wrong.
I heard the coils go out pretty regularly, so I figured I'd get ahead of the curve. Its the original coil from 1989, so I wouldn't be surprised if it did go bad. Probably should be changed anyway.
I'll go back and read the "checking electrical" thread. I've got a fluke so should be no problem.

when you check spark you are supposed to keep the spark plug in the coil and hit the starter.

I've done it both ways. Sometimes it is easier to check spark with a screw driver and ground near the frame or bolt. I usually do this first, then check with the spark plug and make sure its gapped correctly.
