Well you could always pick up a cam pretty cheap. What kind of racing is it? How about suspension stuff?

well my experience with fair tracks are... their small! so bottom end would be where you'll gain the most from. So look into upgrades that would help bottom end... and alwayss practice up and get in shape... practice your holeshots alot and prep yourself. good luck!

go down a tooth on the front sprocket and maybe a sparks key. better front shocks are very nice to. after your first race, you will want to race more. thats where shocks will be a neccisity.
good luck

definitely get a new front sprocket that has 1 less tooth on it.

When and where is the race? If it's a fair race, and your first race, just go to ride and have fun.

they have enough bottom end as it is, no need to do anything for your first race. its just a fair race so just go out there and have fun and see how you like it.

I assume this means you are getting ready for next year? I raced at the fair in July, and plan to race next year as well as some other fairs. Don't do anything to your quad just for the fair race, try it and see what you need (suspension, haha). There will be a couple other first-timers there next year; my brother-in-law and his friend are going to try it on 400exs as well. It'll be nice to not be the only 400ex on the line, but it's sure fun beating 450s, haha :macho
