Did it on my dakota about 3 months ago and so far its holding up well. I did 3 coats on my tails(could be darker) I would only do 1 coat at max cause I know if a cop sees that its a ticket for sure since they are not supposed to be darkened at all.

I know a lot of people that have used it on taillights. It lasts a long time and looks good. I definitely suggest it. Just not for windows.

Forgot to say do several light coats if you dont it will crack on you give it about 15 min between coats

thanks mittman! i may invest in some of this stuff. in nc taillight and headlight covers are legal so maybe i can dodge the law on this one lol

dont use it on your headlights the heat from the bulbs will cause it to crack arter awhile. i know from experince. if u want to do your headlights go buy a pint of clear coat and put a few drops of black paint in it. looks much better imo.

I didnt sand on all the stuff I did and tuned out fine and is holding up well. Actually I was hunting the other day and where I had to turn around there wasnt much room so it was either go into the ditch or hit a small tree(bit smaller than a quarter) but I hit and didnt think of it looked at it the next day where it hit and some of the twigs hit my tinted tail lights and they scratched but it didnt expose any of the red.

Clean it with some paint thinner before And that's all you should have to do

update- i finally finished my truck up and it turned out great. My bro-in-law also did his jeeps taillights and they turned out good to. I first cleaned the surface with soap and water, then i cleaned it again with running alcohol. I sprayed the first coat on, let sit for 15 minutes, sprayed another coat, and repeated this process for 3 coats. Clear coats are optional i did not put one on mine but i may in the future just to keep ***** holes from scratching at it. At night they look completely blacked out, and during the day their a dark dark cherry color in the sunlight. Break lights are completely visible and would highly recommend this stuff to anyone! ill try to get some better pics when it finally stops raining :ermm:
