how much of a difference is there between the DSC and the SSC versions? Do the single speeds fade anymore or is it just greater adjustablity for high/low speed and such ? we're talking LTR longtravel here with JB arms.
170lbs. B-rider coming off LT Walsh/PEP ZPS compression only

They are just more adjustable. The SSC will not fade anymore than the DSC when set up properly.

Is there enough of a benefit for a weekend warrior type B rider to warrant the extra cost, in your opinion. I have no expierience with the floats.

For a weekend guy prob. not unless you fully understand the adjustments. If you are buying new though fox only sells DSC shocks they do not built SSC for big bikes anymore

these are on an LTR I'm looking at. just trying to get an idea if i'm goning to turn around drop a G on the front end of a bike I just got.

You will be fine if you ever feel the need to upgrade though the adjusters can be changed to convert a SSC to DSC.
