are you just looking for stock stroke? i would just put a new OEM crank in it if you just want stock stroke, its not worth just throwing a rod in unless u want a knife rod, janseen motorsports sells the knife rods

my crank is fine. i'm okay with putting a stock rod in but i cannot find one thats not already connected to the crank. seems like a waste of money to have 2 cranks

you dont get what im trying to say. rods are 100 bucks alone if not more, then by the time you put it on, true/weld/balance the crank it would be alot easier and not much more just to get a whole new crank.

hes deff right... you can get a hot rods for 250 or and updated oem cheaper then that.. and it would be more reliable... i wouldnt trust a crank after trying to push the rod out and putting it back in...

my builder is telling me that he can put a new rod on my crank for 50$ if i can find a rod. your saying rods are 100$, so thats 150$. stock cranks with rods are atleast 250$ from what i've seen. seems cheaper to me?

i have an 05 crank/rod... rod is perfect... crank can't use unless u weld a new tooth on the sprocket..

ok if you would listen to anything people are telling you, you would get your answer. Jannsenn, falicon, carillo, maybe hotrods make rods for the cranks, now hotrods and the only ones that are 100-150. carillo and the others are 200-300 bucks for the rod alone. When you change the rod you gotta worry about getting the balance right which shouldnt be a problem if done right, 50 bucks is pretty cheap but he is prolly just helping you out. Now for the money you are spending on a rod and installing it, a crank isnt that much more and you have a whole new crank.

i guess hot rods is having a huge recall on the 450r rods. thats why their so hard to find.

yeah hotrods is redesigning the 04/05 cranks, its not a recall, but it will be much stronger supposivly, hopefully they will be sold soon. but you can get the update kit from servicehonda for a pretty good price and it will be more reliable than your stock crank that has been rebuilt or even the same crank that hasnt been rebuilt. your asking for it if you dont get one of those cranks. you might save 50 dollars rebuilding one, but cases are really really expensive, trust me i know!
