swing arm length

just wondering if anyone had opinions swing arm length. We are running a 09 drr, which has the longer square tube swing arm. My son is 43lbs. so still less than 50 with gear on. I have been thinking about going back to a shorter swing arm to get more power to the ground. I know in big bikes shorter swing arms make them wheelie easier while a longer swing arm will keep the front on the ground and let the back end break loose easier. With the light weight we can break the rear tires loose at any time in a corner so I was wondering if we went to a shorter swing arm would we get better straight line quickness as I am sure we are loosing some tracksion with the longer swing arm.

In TT racing they use a short swinger for that same reason traction. If you need a shorter swinger for that machine I have one Ill sell for 50.00 shipped. Just to let you know.

yes we are talking 50cc bikes.

the geomtry of the longer swingarm is better for most racing , and with enough power it will still pop wheelies so your 50 is probably not over-powering the traction enough to have an adverse effect, IMO.
