i thought i read somewhere that the 04-05 spindles were better but now im not so sure of my self. Which ones are close to the 400ex geometry? Because my a arms were made for the 400ex spindles but i want to use the newest stuff possible. Whats the difference with the 04-05 and 06 and up?

04-05 spindles are better than 06-09, similar in handling to 250r and 400EX, the 06-up push harder in the corners... there is a ton of threads on this on the 450R forum, try searching 450r info there.

how bad is it though, i mean i could literally get a set of 06 up spindles for pennies and the 04-05 are really expensive. So if i buy all 06 and up parts, could i upgrade to the 04-05 spindles and still use the 06 up hubs and calipers? becuse right now im going with the cheaper 06 and up stuff.

The 06 pushes in the corner's pretty bad compared to my 250R, which is supposedly the same as the 04-05 spindles. I never noticed it until I read that on here, went out riding last weekend and sure as sh#t it pushes in the slow tight corners bad. I actually bought 04-05 Houser Long travel aarms for mine so I can convert to 04-05 spindles. the upper aarms are different bw. 04-05 and 06-up. 1/4" shorter. With aftermarket aarms you have enough adjustment to use either spindles. (unsually)

With 06 spindles you need 06-up hubs, and vice versa for 04-05 spindles, the hubs are not backwards compatible. the calipers are the same, though. There is a load of information on this in the 450R forum. So don't take my word for it, but this is what I learned from my searches.

There is a reason the 06-up front end is cheaper cause everyone is selling there's to put 04-05 stuff on, to get back to 250r geometry.

EDIT: I should mention that the tires and wheels I have contribute a little to the fron end push to be fair. But my 250R turns way better.

So why do they push? is it the camber? caster? I guess i will start looking for the 04-05 spindles then.
Thanks!

The distance from the upper ball joint to the wheel is longer on the 06-up... from what I've read.

haha looks like i have changed my mind once again. im going with the cheaper 06 and up parts because i cant afford the 04-05 parts. We will see how it works i guess.
