audio help..

whats going on, I don't know much about car audio and im looking to get a system for not too much. I just bought my girlfriend 2 jlw3 12"s in a bandpass box for $40, and a 900 watt rockford fosgate punch amp for $100, sound good? I found 2 audiobahn 12"s and a 1000watt kenwood amp for $200. how does that sound? or does anyone have anything for sale for not too much? thanks, neil

IMO, the JL and Rockford are light years better than the Audiobahn and Kenwood ....

yeh I know, the jl's and rockford sound good in my girlfriends car. I found an 500watt punch amp (15 years old), he wants $150.

They will sound just fine as long as you get them dialed in correctly. If it's a good deal get it.

honestly i do my best to stay away from used audio stuff unless its coming out of a friends car which usually means you know how its been used and hopefully whether or not it was installed and broken in properly originally. oh and if you buy it from a friend hook it up and it doesn't work as advertised then you know where to go to get your money back lol.

no way in hellll im going pay $1000+ for music. anyone know anything of hifonics subs? I found just a 12" without a box and he's asking $45 (its local so I can hear before). what do yall think?

there just ok for subs...kinda of cheaply made...more of a budget sub..


hifonics amps on the other hand are or pretty good quality for the money

well I ordered two brand 12" hifonics subs. it was $62.00 free shipping. I guess i'll find out when they come in lol

That's the truth. I was in it competitively before I got into riding. The best setup I had was 8 JBL GTI 10's and 4 1200.1's in a 2 door Tahoe. It was only a 149 on the Termlab meter, but it was tuned low for daily driving.

NO....older rockford products were indeed, in terms of power wise, way better than newer products...alot of old school amplifiers were better because companies still used alot of high current circuitry...nothing digital...


but...if that amp is 15 years old...it has probably taken a pretty good beating in 15 years of use...offer him $25

yes a punch amp of new...not an old one..espedially 15 years old



the only way that i would pay tahtmuch for 15+ year old amp is if it was an old US amps amplifier, or an audio art.....

Me either but I'm about to spend 4 times that just on amps. :devil: I got 2300 as of now and am waiting for another 1700 before I can buy my amps. Gettin 4 Rockford t4000.1bd's. I want Steve Meade status! Ahahaha.
