Just picked up a '06 250ex to screw around on, it has tiny 18" tires on the rear, so I plan to get some new ones. I guess this thing came with 22's, but they just seem too huge. I figured Id get some 20's for it, but am afraid of not having enough ground clearance...

What do you guys recommend? Can you post me some pics to help me make my decision?

thx Guys

i run 20 inch kenda knarlys on the back of mine with 21 inch razr 2's up front
yes, it originally came with 22's all the way around, and while they were light and gave good clearance, they didnt offer much traction and wore out really fast

i am happy running my current setup, although i would much rather have a set of 20 inch razr 1's or 21 inch holeshot GNCC's on the rear

I also race XC with the setup, and i have hit some rough stuff and all i have to show for it is a dented skid plate in the rear, so its not that bad at all;)

this is about the best picture i could get:
hope this helps:)

i run holeshot gncc 21" rear tires. a great comprimise size for this bike. not too heavy ,but good traction. i feel the 250ex is geared too low for 20 rear tires....no speed at all. the motor has pretty good grunt anyways for what it is .its a fun ,reliable machine though. my opinion

I picked up a set of powder coated rims and 20" dunlop rears on ebay for $10!!!

Painted my hubs red just for the bling factor...I think it looks pretty good.

Have 21" duro's up front, handles nicely now.

I left the hubs right on the axles...just masked them off with some tape and shot them with some krylon...no biggee

Rustloeum...flag red. Just wire brush them and degrease them with some sort of cleaner..I think I used brake cleaner. I taped off the center axle bolt and the lugs...then just sprayed them. Seem to hold up well, they are just gonna get beat up and muddy anyway...

I had them heat treated, then acid washed....I then had them chromed and then sand blasted clean, then I threw them out and bought new ones on ebay and then payed MAACO to paint them for me. I then crated the whole quad up in a pallet and had it shipped back to japan so Honda could reassemble it for me. Came out awesome...didnt cost much either.
