shift problems

ive got a 2000 400ex i have been havin trouble shifting from 2 into 3 with the clutch the only thing different since i got the quad is my new alpine star boots maybe im crazy but everything is fine when i ride in my work boots could alpinestar be the problem any help is appreciated

It;s the boots, put them on and get them wet (OUTSIDE ONLY)wear them for awile and that will make them flex more and it will help you shift better.
Don't use the billet shifter they bend. Try to move the shifter up one click on the spline. But by doing that you run the risk of jamming it when you land a big jump.

Buy a used one from ebay and make it longer by cutting it and making an extention for it and weld it back together. 1/2" should do it.
