My buddie has a CR250 cylinder that he got with his 250r awhile ago that he wants to sell. its been worked by paul turner. It has his etchings on the side and under the intake. says 89 on it along with some other numbers and it has been ported probly by PT. Is this cylinder any good, whats the story on these. Their is nothing on their website about it.

From what I gather, using a CR cylinder was a more popular trick back in the day because they had the nikasil bore and more modern port layout. The powervalve had to be blocked off because it was mechanically operated and not by exhaust. As more modern cylinders were developed over the years, I think the CR conversion became less popular.
