I bought a 5 1/2 x 8 trailor from Tractor Supply. Only use is to haul my John Deer X300 riding mower.

My Toyota sits on 35's with a 5" superlift. I had to buy a 8" drop hitch to bring the trailor almost level. Currently the axle is over the leaf springs. Can I flip the axle under the leaf without any real change in how it will ride? Will it be any bouncier? Pros/Cons?

Wanting to flip the trailor axle, just so you know.

Thanks for any help.

I don't have the answer to your question, but what year model Toyota? Tacoma?

91 Toyota 4x4 "pickup" thats what the model was called. It came out before the Tacoma.

Not 100% sure but when I lowered my old truck I used a "flip kit" which does the reverse of what your doing.(puts axle over leaf springs) and it came with a bracket so you will probably need a spring plate.

Search "flip kit" on google images.

I have flipped the axles on both my 5'x11' open trailer, and my 7'x14' enclosed trailer.
I did it for the same reasons, to get the trailer higher, and level with the truck.
Both handle the same as they did before the flip.

about the only "con" I can think of is the tounge jack needs to be very stout, when trying to move the trailer around by hand, (not hooked up to truck)
