you have to have 09 seat, tank, plastics and frame unless you can modify the hell out of the mounts for everything on the 08 frame.

450mxr frame is the same as the 525s frame.

Did the 09 525s Have different foot pegs or were the mounts actually moved? I do know that they are atleast forward 1" on the 525s and stayed the same in 08 and 09 on the 450

09 450mxr 1016381-458 Frame, Main, Matte' Black

09 525s 1016381-458 Frame, Main, Matte' Black

I believe it was the 09 IRS that they moved the pegs forward on. Do not take everything on the Polarisindustries web site to be true, they had them listed as being able to come in camo one year.

I converted an 08 Outlaw 450 to 09 Outlaw 450 plastics. And it worked great.

i bought an 09 tank and drille hoels in it, made a backing plate and used the 08 fuel shut off and installed it in the 09 tank. Used o-rings and silcone to seal. does not leak at all.

I took the old tank mounts cut them off, figured out where to place them with the 09 tank . and welded them on . works fine . had to add a tab for the rear fenders as seen in the pic. Sorry about the bad quality image . im sure you can figure it out.

Nice job and I am sure this will help some guys who have been writing me. One of my main things was getting rid of the idler steering system, I was going through to many parts. I am happy to say, 2 xc races and the steering is still tight with the new 09 newer style.

So u modified the 08 steering to be the 09>?? lets see a pic of that i was thinking about it when i was doing the conversion but thought to much cutting. I only shortened my steering stem an inch to work better.

I am in the grassroots program so I bought a frame, plastics, seat IMS tank, Rath Stem, and quad tech hood. I have yet to put that one together and am in middle of it. I got a great deal on an 09 IRS from Bairs Polaris in North Canton Michigan. They Sponsor John Gallagher Sr. I have raced the IRS twice and might be running it this weekend if I do not get the 525S together.

I have heard that there are some 09 lower steering stem brackets out there that get welded to the frame but not many. You could make one possibly. I may try and convert the other frame over also like you did.

Is that a quadtech beak for a polaris or did you use it from something else. I am very intrested in other mounts you had to change I am looking into changing an 08 to 09 plastic. any help is much appreciated.

That is a Quadtech hood for a YFZ that he used. It looks good how he filled in the gaps.
