trx250r just quit

just the other day i was riding my r and it quit. i thought it was the plug (it never fouls the plug)so i changed it.nothing. later at home i cleaned the carb, checked the reeds and compression(205 psi) and nothin. changed the stator. nothin.
i poured a capful of gas in the plug hole and it started after a few kicks (it normally starts on the first or second kick)and ran for about 3 secs. it also backfired. it sounded like it was straining/bogging to run those couple of secs.
i checked for cracks in the cylinder and didnt see any.
i cant really see a spark at the plug,thats with my girlfriend kicking it not so hard though
does anyone have a clue what it could be? coil?cdi?carb?
when it quit it bogged down like it fouled a plug.

sounds like something is shorted out. But it could be something more.

If it fired when you put gas straight in it,it must have a spark.

Got to a fueling issue, crap in the fuel line?

maybe your float is hung down not letting gas in.. spray some gas straight into the intake with a squirt bottle and maybe a little of starting fluid and see what happens...
