hey guy i just put both new pistons and ring in my 406 bored 80 over shee it been about 2 month now with good rideing a lot..
the kicker side smokes still smokes alot to be honest the shifter side dosent smoke one bit just on start up untill it warms up ...
so could it be the ring gap i never checked the gaps just bought it and put it in .
i did hone it .. so if not the gap should i get oversixed rings >>?
i never gaped rings what do u do just put the fellers gauge in the gap and squeez ring close or open ?

Don't do the oversize rings, it will likely sieze up. The rings should have around .012" end gap. Just put a ring in the cylinder flush at the top of the cylinder. Take your pair of feeler gauges and measure the end gap of each ring. As a general rule, more rings should have .003-.004" per inch of bore.
