250x Problems

I just recently broke 3rd gear while doing hill climbs at trevorton. So I was wondering if anyone has a 300 bottom end i can buy? Or the parts to fix the trans i have.

Now the second problem is with reverse. I cant use reverse. When i engage reverse the motor shuts off as if I hit the Kill switch. I have tried to keep it revved while engaging reverse and still it just shuts of the engine. I can't seem to figure out what the problem is. Thanx ahead of time for all of you guys help and responses.

Try grounding the grey wire that goes from the cdi to the reverse switch located under your clutches in the case. If the reverse works fine then your switch has gone bad. As for the gear, you'll have to split the case and fix the problem.

I just aquired a transmission for my 250x. I don't know if the trans. is the same as a 300EX. I only needed the 17 tooth gear.
