I would like to make sure things are clean before putting the engine back together. What would you guys recommend besides solvents? Should I use a flapper attachment on a Dremel?

What is the best way to clean the header out, wouldn't that potentially yield more power by opening it up (by removing the carbon).....?

i use those wire wheels you mount on drills for stripping rust etc..

That is a good idea.... Just chuck it into an extension and send it down the header?

sea foam is a good idea aswell as using oven cleaner. i've had good results with filling the pipe with the sea foam and capping the ends. this allows you to slosh it around really good. i've even heated up the pipe afterwards with a propane torch(after flushing water through). this helps it to break loose.

Okay, good stuff.... Do you think that is a waste of time, or did anyone notice a power difference doing that?

a waste of time? no not really, especially in the the exhaust port opening out to the end of the of the first pipe joint. that area can build up purdy good. although i've seen some pipes that were terribly caked up, insulating the ping da ping ping ding lol. me likes to hear dat..... :D
