Alright. My 2006 I bought and its in decent shape. Needs some work. So I was looking on craigslist and saw this ad:

http://maine.craigslist.org/rvs/1377571652.html

He wants to trade this quad for my 2006 Trx450r that is mostly stock. I asked him why he would do this.

His response was that he has a 2007 and the 2005. He likes the 2007 more and needs alot of parts for it so he was looking for a mostly stock 2006 and up 450r and was just gonna use it for parts.

So we are doing any even swap:D

In a heart beat!! Even if its hammered, all the componentry is there!! I would ask a bit more on the engine, find out if it runs straight race gas and consider it. But yeah, def. trade.

If it isn't stolen and runs good, heck yeah.

Even if it is super beat, bushings/heims/bearings/powdercoat and a little polishing are still super cheap compared to buying all of those parts.

Nice. We are swapping on saturday I think. But Rollie he took care of the bike right? And the engine has a 13.5 high compression piston and a light port job with 1 hour on it.

The shocks were rebuilt and have 3 rides on them.

Yeah for sure, he raced A class on it so if he didn't maintain it he would have missed alot of races! Its not the prettiest bike but you get a full walsh/PEP/Baldwin 450R for 5 grand!, tear her down, replaces the bushings and grease whats necessary, throw some new plastic on it and you have one hell of a quad!

He also gets most of the work on his bikes done by his sponsor, DRT racing who is josh creamers mechanic!

Alright. I was gonna add 200 cash on top of my quad.

Then he txts me today. He said it runs mint but it has a small leak out of the radiator and the hole isnt visible. So he said I can keep my 200 to spend on a radiator.

Should I still do it? Im thinking I should.

And it also needs new linkage bearings and Rear fender brackets. How much am I looking at for all of this?

If the hole cant be seen, can you atleast see the coolant coming out? If its losing coolant thats not visible, it could be going into the engine, or into the cylinder and burning it. I'd find that out first. If you can see coolant leaking, I'd swap. If its the radiator, a radiator shop can fix it for a few bucks, as I have had mine done on a z400.

Ya the fluid drips out of the radiator somwhere. The engine has an hour on it.

All of those things are cheap, and u can normally find used radiators that are perfect in the forums for like 40-60bux.

if thats all theat wrong with it you are looking at $100-120 to fix it i would do it if i seen the quad in person and was in as good as shape as he says.
