just rebuilt the top end on 06,stock piston,but added HC stage 2,FMF power bomb,with Q4 pipe,175 main,45 pilot,06 CRF needle ,no lid,twin air filter,and I must say this combo is fantastic,starts and runs like a champ!!!We will add headwork to the next rebuild !!!!,now the suspention, and this thing should be good!!!

very nice.. i just tore my whole motor down today... was hoping to just do top end but, more stuff was broke so ... had to split the cases... sounds like it would run like a beast..

why did you put another stock piston in it? you should of put anykind of aftermarket with like a 12:1 comp. would of made a big difference and no loss of reliability

The stock piston on the 06+ is 12:1. It's a very good piston for being stock.

Yeah alot of guys run the stock piston on the 06+. Ive heard of some of the newer quads breaking 50 horse with good jetting and a drop in cam. Ive never even been close to a quad dyno tho so when it comes to horsepower i have no clue. I just ride mine and say....."she runs purty dang good" hahah

just know the stock piston has a great track record,(for my mods) less money, didn,t think the same compression from a different company would out weight the reliability,of the stocker. just my thoughts mabe next time, your thoughts are welcome!!!!stock is 12 to 1 high enough for me!!!!
