there is a CORR track out there (or whats left of it) supermoto events held there and BITD i believe does a race there. WORCS isn't supermoto and should have nothing to do with it. After riding the Perris Auto Speedway's TORQ Mickey/Thompson stadium series track on a quad, and Glen Helen's off road car track, It doesnt sound like a very fun venue to go to. The rhino's will have a good time but its just going to be either WOT, rocks, and a cheesy mx track. Only thing I'd be looking forward to doing that weekend is going home. At least havasu has terrain changes, and water. its flat at Primm...

World ATV Motocross Championship Racing Series Announced
St. George, UT (10/2/2009) -The rumors are true! ATVRiders.com is the first to get confirmation that Off Road Sports, LLC and WORCS series promoter Sean Reddish have a new west coast motocross series in the works. The World ATV Motocross Championship Series will be making its debut this winter with locations scheduled for California, Nevada & Arizona.

The Series is set to run from December 2009 to middle of February in 2010, and the race dates will be carefully planned so they don't overlap any other major ATV motocross racing event, so it should attract plenty of ATV racers from around the country looking for a winter racing series.

There will be a total of four race locations, but each weekend will count as two rounds of racing with races on Saturday & Sunday to bring the total rounds of racing to eight.

Also, the World ATV Motocross Championship Series is the first series on the west coast to be set up similarly to the AMA ATV Motocross Championship in format. The transponder system that has been used by WORCS, has been upgraded to allow for live web timing that is available to a worldwide audience just like with national level events so fans can keep track of their favorite riders’ progress lap by lap from their homes if they are unable to get out to the track.

According to Sean Reddish, the series’ website will be launched in about two weeks to coincide with the official press release and will have more information available regarding race schedule, gate fees, race fees and such.

ATVRiders.com will be posting new information on this exciting new series as soon as it comes available.

Who knows what Primm will be like but I'm sure they will set it up great! I love it just cause it's half an hour away. Then Mesquite at the end of the year is about an hour away!!

I'll be making all of them and I'm going to try and get a dang championship!

Kelseys stoked for that round... Brandons isn't . Lol
We will have to think about that one . Would be cheaper since we wouldn have to leave as early since there's no practice .

Darrell , dont feel bad... Brandons shocks and airbox hasnt even came yet and hes never even rode his new quad yet. :eek2: :p
alot will depend if both arrive in time if we go to Round 1.
My quad has had an electrical "something" since Straddleline and still cant figure it out . LOL :o
Troy sucks at anything electrical.

We'll be out there to support the Frederick camp and visit some friends. We fly in to PHX Jan 16th, so I hope to be out there on Friday to check out practice. I'd love to race, but getting the quad out there from Indiana is out of the question. If I see any faces I recognize, I'll introduce myself. See you there!!!

They have been saying they were going to have to replace the old ones for two years. They have been discontinued for some time, and worcs has been trying to stretch it as long as they could not to replace. But they cannot get or buy more, and have been cutting it close to not having enough for the entrants, especially at the bike rounds. The new ones are much better technology, and you can get a cool printout of what you did during the race.

I'm not terribly happy about the forecast, but we have plane tickets, so I guess we're committed. I haven't seen temps above freezing for about a month, so mid-60s and a few showers is still going to feel nice!

I believe they changed transponder rentals to 15 $ and the same ones work for the world atv mx series... and you can use the same transponder on different bikes as long as they don't race at the same time..

Well it is an off road race. Something to think about, i have some friends that live right down the street from the track, and they tell me that for some reason they dont get the heavy rain like it does in phoenix. They say that it will rain several inches a couple miles down the road, and they wont get but a sprinkle. Hopefully that will be the case. Timmy i might have some of those photos, what are you looking for?

Rain or shine we are in. We (Alex Ortiz and dad) cant wait for the desert race. Do we know if more then one person can use the transponder. I thought that I read that some wear, that would be nice for me. Just buy one for the kid.

F-16Guy
01-13-2010, 08:46 PM
It usually doesn't rain heavy like it did before. With what the forecast calls for, I actually think the track conditions are going to be ideal. A few isolated showers each day leading up to the race is perfect. That clay soil takes a long time to absorb water, so a few days of showers will leave the track nice and tacky and keep it that way for longer. When it's dry, Speedworld tends to over-water the track and it turns into a slippery, muddy mess. It's going to be a good opener!

raidernut
01-13-2010, 08:46 PM
Yes you can both use the same transponder.

For those that havent read the lastest... theres been a slight venue change..I just watched the Lucas oil race over the weekend.
Anyone know much about this track and how the water situation is for cleaning quads?? I hadnt planned on bringing a barrel .

As we prepare for this weekends first round of the Rocky Mountain ATV WORCS series presented by Motoworks the weather has become a concern. As of Monday night we have only had sprinkles of rain even though we are supposed to of been getting heavy rain. This week the forecast is for heavy rain just like it was for today so we have taken a drastic measure to make sure the event runs well no matter the weather. The race location has been moved to the Lucas Oil Off Road track at Speed World. This area is about 1/2 mile away from the Speed World National track and is above the wash area that can be so much a problem in heavy rain. We were already set up in the usual area and moved everything today just to be safe. We know WORCS racers travel long distances and being proactive early seemed to be the best situation. The national track will not be used this weekend unless the weather cooperates, however the off road is on higher ground and should be good to go. Below are the new directions to the track. Everyone will enter the park from Happy Valley Rd instead of Jomax Rd.

From Hwy 60 (Grand Avenue) go 4.3 miles North of Loop 303 and take a left on Happy Valley Road. Go another 1.4 miles to the Speed World entrance and take a right. Continue to the parking area ahead. If you are coming form the North on Hwy 60 go past Jomax to the next road which is Happy Valley and take a right. Follow the directions above from there.

It rained hard last night, but it's been sunny and warm all day, so depending on this next storm, it may be decent. I'm sure it will still be muddy, but you shouldn't need a boat to get around. Got. My fingers crossed!

CannondaleRider
01-21-2010, 09:27 PM
Well, news at 5:00 guessed about 3 inches for that area, wouldn't surprise me if it was 5 or 6 by now. How is it up there?

QuadJunkies
01-21-2010, 09:59 PM
Weather is soooo ridiculous . I can't believe we didn't stay home. Lol we had such bad winds and rain . I can't imagine what the track looks like right now . Even the motel has mini lakes . A miracle. Needs to happen. I know the airport canceled all flights today and some of the riders can't get here until tomorrow .

CannondaleRider
01-22-2010, 12:55 AM
No surprise to me... I knew it was bad up there, being the same system is coming through my town down here.

Seems to me, this is by far the worst storm we've had in the last decade. I mean, come on, we do not get 8 hour long tornado watches, along with a couple actual tornado warnings....that does not happen here. Ha.

F-16Guy
01-29-2010, 06:57 AM
Well, the alternate track was a little boring, but you have to admit, the weather came around pretty nicely. Nice and tacky with minimal mud and no dust.

If Phoenix was any indication, this season is going to be like SX. The top two or three are going to check out early every race, and the rest of the pack will battle it out several minutes back. If I remember correctly, Baron and Frederick had lapped up to third!! That's crazy.
